Hello Friends:
I hope you all are well and enjoying the sunnier weather that’s making its way to us these days. Today, I am sharing my review of the Willow Wrap Dress by Love Notions Patterns. This is a quick and easy sew that you can easily whip up in an afternoon or less. It’s great for this transitional time of year.
Pattern Details
This is a versatile knit pattern available in sizes XS-5X for high bust sizes of 31” to 55”, waists of 26.5” to 49.5”, and hips of 35.5” to 59.5”. The pattern comes with the following views and options:
View Options
Length options: Dress and Peplum
Sleeve options: short, elbow, 3/4 length, long and flutter
V Neckline depths: High and low
Option for side pleated bodice
Option front bodice flounce
Maternity option
Standard Bust and Full Cup Bust Bodice pieces
My Version
I decided to go with the peplum view because I need more transitional tops in my wardrobe. I had just enough fabric left from making my daughter’s Love Notions Everyday Playdress last year to squeeze out this top. The instructions in the pattern were clear and straightforward and I completed this top in a few hours from cutting to finished top.
Pattern Changes
I sewed a size small for the bust and waist and graded to a size medium at the hip. I also shorted the bodice piece by one inch ( I am 5’1″ for reference). I love the look of flutter sleeves and decided they would be perfect for this top. The fabric is a geometric print from Elliott Berman Fabrics that I picked up on trip to NYC a few years ago. I was glad I had enough left over to make a top for myself because I love this unique design.
