Happy Friday!
I love the look of maxi-length vests and I had some faux fur in my stash, so I thought I’d combine the two and make one for myself. I chose the Oakley Vest pattern to achieve this easy and luxurious look.
Pattern Details
View A is made for faux furs, cuddle fleece, and Minky. It features a curved hem and in-seam pockets.
View B is made for heavier coatings including pre-quilted fabrics, fleece, and puffy vinyl.
The Oakley Vest is a cute jacket pattern with a recently updated size range from XS-5X. It fits upper bust measurements 31”-55” and Hip sizes of 35.5” – 59.5”.
View C is a more fitted style with princess seams and in-seam pockets. Both view B & C have options for a funnel collar or hood.
Fabric Chosen
I chose the Luxe Cuddle Arctic Lynx from Harts Fabric for my vision. It has a nice gradient of beige and grey stripes intermixed with animal print spots. It has an extremely soft and velvety touch to boot. I lined it with a gold satin lining from my stash.
Sewing and Pattern Changes
I sewed a size medium for my 34-inch upper bust measurement. I held the pattern pieces to myself and added 28 inches of pattern paper to the shorten and lengthen line. I also hand-tacked the lining at the front side-seams because it was sagging away from the main body fabric.
Styling
I decided to pair this look with an all-white outfit. My white Closet Core Patterns Ginger jeans were the base of this look and I added my favorite front zip boots that I purchased from Target a few years ago. Here are some great options that you can pick up on Amazon.
