The Love Notions Everyday Playdress is a quick and easy to sew pattern designed for knit fabrics. It was originally created for sizes 12/18 months to size 8, but has now been updated to go through to a size 16. For my daughter Carmen’s dress, I decided to make a size 10 based on her measurements. It fits her perfectly!
She looked through my fabric stash with me and we came up with these coordinating fabrics. The grey is a cotton fabric from unknown origins and the print for the skirt is from Elliot Berman Textiles, NYC. For the belt, I used some mystery rib knit in my stash that matched the red colored geometric shapes in the skirt. I finished the hem with my serger using a narrow three-thread hem. This method was used for both efficiency and to bring out the black in the main fabric’s design.
